ვალერია შაშენოკი 21 წლისაა. ის უკრაინის ქალაქ ჩერნიგოვიდანაა. ახლა ლონდონში ცხოვრობს და იქიდან ცდილობს გააგონოს უკრაინელი ხალხის ხმა მსოფლიოს.
უკრაინელი ფოტოგრაფი მსოფლიომ ჯერ კიდევ ერთი წლის წინ, მაშინ გაიცნო, როდესაც უკრაინაში რუსეთი შეიჭრა და ვალერიამ გადაწყვიტა, რომ რუსეთი და ომი, რომელიც მას, მის ოჯახს, მეგობრებს, მეზობლებს და მთელ უკრაინას დაატყდა თავს, სოციალურ მედიაში - ტიკ-ტოკზე, ინსტაგრამზე გადაეტანა და ასე ეჩვენებინა დანარჩენი ცივილიზებული სამყაროსთვის, რა ხდებოდა მის ქვეყანაში.
თავდაპირველად, სარკასტული ვლოგების გადაღება დაიწყო. მაგალითად, როგორ უნდა მოამზადო ბომბსაფარში ბორში, როგორ უნდა მიიღო შხაპი, როგორ მოადუღო ყავა. ბომბსაფრიდან ამოსული ვალერია ჩერნიგოვში, რუსული ჭურვებისგან განადგურებულ შენობებს უღებდა ფოტოებს, მათ ფონზე წერდა ვიდეოებს და ვლოგებს სოციალურ მედიაში ათავსებდა. ძალიან მალე, ვალერიას ვლოგებმა ათეულობით მილიონი ნახვა და მოწონება მოაგროვა.
2022 წლის გაზაფხულზე ვალერიას უკრაინის დატოვება მოუხდა. ის ჯერ იტალიაში წავიდა, შემდეგ კი ლონდონში. ავსტრიულმა გამომცემლობამ ვალერიას შესახებ გასულ წელს წიგნი გამოსცა: “24 თებერვალი: და ცა აღარ იყო ცისფერი”. წიგნი ინგლისურ და იტალიურ ენებზეც ითარგმნა. ვალერია ორჯერ იყო მიწვეული ევროპარლამენტში. რამდენიმე დღის წინ, ვალერია თბილისში ჩამოვიდა. საქართველოს პრეზიდენტის, სალომე ზურაბიშვილის მოწვევით მან ქალთა საერთაშორისო კონფერენციაში „ქალები მშვიდობისთვის“ მიიღო მონაწილეობა.
