If you're going to surf the mutant slab of a wave known most commonly as "Ours," wipeouts are inevitable. This wave is no joke, and Red Bull Cape Fear 2016 demonstrated exactly that. The wave breaks dangerously close to a jagged rock shelf, in nothing more than a few feet of water. Once you make the drop, ollie down some of the step downs, and navigate the backwach, the slab opens itself up for the most committed surfers to try and get barreled out of their mind. Take a look back at some of the heaviest wipeouts from the event - fortunately, no-one was seriously injured. We're stoked and grateful Justen "Jughead" Allport survived what may have been one of the heaviest wipeouts of all-time at Cape Fear - heal up soon man, see you back out there.
